TwitX is the hub where microbloggers pull readers in from their various social networking sites and gain search engine exposure for their ExTweets. This makes TwitX an optimal broadcast medium for microbloggers. Below are the main features.
- Write posts called 'ExTweets' of up to 2000 characters with embedded video and pictures. Our format contains threaded comments from readers on the same page as your message. This allows extended discussion by multiple parties over an extended period. Twitter comments float in user streams without any connection to the message they reply to. Facebook comments are threaded with the original post to which they reply but also float down the user stream into oblivion (like their Twitter brethren) as each new post enters the Facebook stream. ExTweets are cataloged and searchable in our system by subject, author and keywords.
- TwitX posts your message to our website and a portion of your message to Twitter and / or Facebook with a link back to your ExTweet.
- ExTweets passing our internal quality review are posted to our search engine friendly directory. All ExTweets also appear on your user profile page on TwitX. This gives your posts a permanency lacking in traditional social media.
- Embed URL links are automatically crunched by the system to 33 characters for a better appearance within your ExTweet.
- TwitX does NOT ask for nor otherwise store your Twitter or Facebook password. We use the OAuth protocol to connect you to Twitter and Facebook via their respective API's to exchange data with those sites.
- TwitX does ask for nor store your email address. If we need to communicate with you, this is accomplished through an internal TwitX virtual mail box or private messages through Twitter or Facebook.
- Each TwitX user profile contains a link to that user's Twitter or Facebook account, a URL of your choosing, public information about the user, and a listing of your ExTweets and comments posted to TwitX.
Below is a sample of what TwitX posts to your Twitter account when an ExTweet is created, in this case an Extweet about Johnny Depp. The same protocol is used by TwitX to post a similar message to Facebook, if you so desire.
The short URL link redirects to your complete post on TwitX. We use the Twitter and Facebook API's to post your messages to those site but are not otherwise affiliated these companies.
Social Networking Features
TwitX is still in the development stage but plans are in place to add social networking features to the site. Not only will users sign up to follow message posts to categories which interest them, also, follow other TwitX users whose ExTweet they wish to be placed into their private TwitX stream. When implemented, each user profile shall a listing of all followers. A system of private messages between users is also in our plans.
TwitX is owned by Joseph Raymond.
